Boo’d Up

Late Pass, Music

Late pass but I really like this song. Just got put onto it via a tweet by rap writer/record store owner Noz who said it’s popping in the Bay with the 40 and older crowd. Enjoy.

On My Mind

Late Pass, Music, Videos

Jorja Smith killed it on Drake’s More Life album, but it took me a while to dig into her other stuff. Then this morning, I was listening to the new Spotify Singles versions of her song “Teenage Fantasy” and Frank Ocean’s “Lost,” and off the strength of those, I think I’m now a full-blown Jorja Smith fan.

Maybe it’s because she’s from the UK, but the way she effortlessly slays it kind of reminds me of Amy Winehouse. Am I far off? Check out the video for her latest single “On My Mind” above (which I’m currently obsessed with), then peep the acoustic version below as well as a live rendition “Teenage Fantasy.”

Lil Eto on Showoff Radio

Late Pass, Music, Videos

Super late pass because this clip is from this past spring, but I’m just now seeing it so fuck it I’m posting. Lil Eto, a Rochester rapper I’ve been checking for since I heard him on this Lattisaw Tapes mix earlier this summer, goes in over an Alchemist beat I’ve never heard on Showoff Radio with Statik Selektah. This an ill session, I’m officially a Lil Eto fan now.

*Update*

This is crazy, too…

Boredom

Late Pass, Music, Television

Late pass needed but yo, this Tyler, The Creator song “Boredom” is dope. Shout to Insecure on HBO for once again coming through with the sick soundtrack.

*Bonus*

Below are a couple other joints I was feeling from the Insecure Season Two finale. One is the solo version of Frank Ocean’s “Biking,” a song I didn’t realize how much I liked until I heard it in context. And the other is a new joint from SZA titled “Quicksand.” Vibe out…
