Joey Bada$$ put out a new video this week for his 1999 song “Fromdatomb” featuring his boy Chuck Strangers. This is how I like rap videos to look. Straight New York street shit, with subway shots and all. It reminds me of an old Black Moon video or something. Joey rips his verse of course, but Chuck Strangers has my favorite bars on the song, when he spits, “I know how to write these songs I know how to light these bongs I know how to rip thongs and I’m pretty good at beer pong.” Hahah I love that. Check it out above. Cheah.

The Symbol
UncategorizedIt’s here, as promised, and it’s ridiculous. Action Bronson’s new video for his collabo with The Alchemist, “The Symbol.” Watch below, and download the song for free HERE. Rare Chandeliers coming soon.
Unreal.
*BONUS*
Another dope video by a white rapper. Props to Mac Miller for producing this beat, and for being weird. I’m into this. Check out Mac’s new joint “He Who Ate All The Caviar” below.
San Fran Flavor
UncategorizedI got put on recently to this new song/video “Them Days” by NATE, a 20 year old Mexican/Nicaraguan rapper from San Francisco. I was immediately impressed by his double-time rap skills, plus I love hearing kids from my Bay Area homeland kicking some real shit in their rhymes. Dope song, dope video. Watch above, and download his album Common Folk here. Cheah.
Rocky II
UncategorizedThis dude Roc Marciano is my favorite rapper out right now who isn’t named Action Bronson. He dropped a new joint earlier this week called “Rocky II,” and the shit is pimp. It’s got a smooth, soul groove, and killer lyrics and flow. I’ve been knocking this steadily for the past two days after posting it on Complex. Check it out.
*BONUS*
This “Poltergeist” video he dropped today is dope too. Low budget, but the raps are priceless.
Stay tuned, Roc’s got a new project called Reloaded on the way. One.
X Marks The Spot
UncategorizedSadat X is one of the most legendary rap artists to ever rep the 914. As a teenager, he was one of my favorites, along with his Brand Nubian bro Grand Puba. And two decades plus into his career, the Now Rule and BX legend is still nice as fuck. Want proof? Press play on the video above and watch him absolutely slay Mad Lion’s “Take It Easy” instrumental on Sway’s morning show. He goes in for like three minutes, and shows these little puny rappers out who think they’ve got skills what the true meaning of an MC is. All praises due to the great Sadat X.
Mountain Men
UncategorizedBand of Horses’ new album Mirage Rock drops next Tuesday, and I was lucky enough to obtain an early copy of it. BOH is one of my favorite bands, so of course I was psyched to hear their new shit. I posted a video of them back in April playing a gorgeous new song titled “Long Vows,” and I’m happy to report that the studio recording on the album of it is fantastic. I’ve listened to it easily twenty plus times in the past 24 hours since I got the album.
I also like this cut “Slow Cruel Hands Of Time,” and there’s a killer video of them singing it in Jackson Hole up in the mountains. Pretty sweet. Check it out above. And below, hear the studio recording of “Long Vows,” which is my new shit (pardon them calling it “Long Vowels” it’s “Long Vows”).
BOH for life!
Ready Roc
UncategorizedRoc Marciano’s new song “76” is my favorite rap release of the week. I first heard Roc back in the day on Busta Rhymes’ track “The Heist” with Raekwon and Ghostface, and then more recently started paying attention to him after hearing him with Action Bronson on the Blue Chips leadoff cut “Pouches Of Tuna.” This new song “76” was produced by Roc himself, and both the beat and the rhymes are worthy of praise. Dude has an ill style, and dope lyrics. And this beat is flat out fire. Hip-hop is still alive, my friends.
*BONUS*
This shit is crack.
Sweet Talk
UncategorizedI never heard of this chick Jessie Ware before yesterday, but her new song “Sweet Talk” is smooth as fuck. Upon doing some light research, I found out that she’s from the UK, and her album Devotion is coming out this month. She’s worth keeping an eye out for off the strength of this song. Shit is crack. Listen above.
There He Go
UncategorizedI’ve heard a lot about ScHoolboy Q over the past year or so, but nothing of his ever really caught my attention. Until this. Check out his video for “There He Go.” Shit’s hard, from the beat to the flow to the visuals. I’m one step closer to becoming a fan…
Bronson Burgers
UncategorizedAction Bronson continues to serve up my favorite rap music in the world. Seriously, this guy is the best, at least in my book. Here are three new tracks by Bronsolino that I have on repeat right now. The first is “Midget Cough,” which features an absolutely sick loop by Party Supplies. Below that is “Blackbird,” another great song with an ill beat and plenty of quotables. And finally, there’s “Elimination Chamber,” which is produced by The Alchemist and also features Odd Future rappers Domo Genesis and Earl Sweatshirt, as well as some dude Vincent Staples who does his thing too. It’s ridiculous. Enjoy these new Bronson bangers. All three are amazing in their own way.
Action Bronson “Midget Cough” (Produced by Party Supplies)
Action Bronson “Blackbird” (Produced by Thelonius Martin)
Domo Genesis f/ Earl Sweatshirt, Vincent Staples, and Action Bronson “Elimination Chamber” (Produced by The Alchemist)
Hat trick!
