Great set by the young stand-up comedy legend Brandon Wardell. This dude cracks me up.
The video is kinda silly, but the song is fresh. Gotta check out the rest of the album now.
Off a recommendation from Revolt on-air personality Jinx, I went to check out Dreamville artist Ari Lennox’s new album Shea Butter Baby. He said it was “crack,” and I don’t take those types of recos lightly from people I respect.
He was right.
Though I thought the album overall was really great, I quickly gravitated towards two songs in particular that were more my speed of R&B, “Up Late” and “I Been.” Check out a soulful live performance of “Up Late” above with a guest spot by its co-producer Masego on the sax. And below is the audio for “I Been,” which is super-duper fire and showcases Ari’s vocal abilities in a major way. Can’t stop watching/listening to these two songs, they’ve been on repeat since I first heard them. This woman is a natural, and these songs are giving me ’90s D’Angelo, Mary J. Blige and Erykah Badu vibes.
Jay-Z took the stage at the new and improved Webster Hall last night for his B-Sides 2 show, and it was filled with highlights—including guest appearances by Nas and Cam’ron. Of all the footage that I’ve seen, this clip of Hov doing the Blueprint 2 sleeper “Some People Hate” with the live band is my favorite. Check it out above, and check out Tidal for the full set playlist.
I had this idea years ago, but all this B-Sides 2 concert footage inspired me to dig in my bag and put together a mix of all my old Stan Ipcus songs recorded on Jay-Z beats. Enjoy the mix!

I somehow just heard this song for the first time this week on Hot 97, and now I’m obsessed with it. Pardon the late post, but this beat is super fresh and Cole bodies the last verse. Props to 21 Savage, and to DJ Dahi on the production.
