NY Fitted Caps Coloring Sheet
October 1, 2009

Peep my newest coloring sheet. The NY fitted caps. Just in time for the playoffs. Kids have been enjoying these up in my Cultural Art Center at work. And so have the adults! I recently went head to head (pun intended) with my dude June, who has a daughter in my program, to see who could color in the freshest fitteds. Which two hats are you feeling more? Leave your vote in the comments section. Oh, and pardon the S on METS getting cut off, it’s the scanner’s fault!!!!

Air Yeezy and iPod Touch Coloring Sheets
July 12, 2009

I’m back baby! Got some fresh new coloring sheets for the 2009 camp season. Only the flyest pages for the youth. Try to find these somewhere else in the world. Yes, I take pride in my coloring sheets (I draw them myself). Usually, for the sneaker sheets I draw one sneaker nice and big for the kids to color (see the bottom of this post), but I thought it would be cool for the Air Yeezy (Kanye West’s new Nike sneaker) to give them a chance to design their own collection, since that’s what Kanye did. Here’s a couple examples of what the kids did with them. These were done by a couple of pre-teen members that frequent my Cultural Arts Center at the BGC (Boys and Girls Club)…

Check out my other new one, the iPod Touch. The kids love this one. I’m excited to see what they can do with it. Check out a couple examples below of what they’ve done so far. Not bad huh?

And here is the first Sneaker of the Week winner from the 2009 summer season, off one of my original sneaker designs…

Stay tuned for more winning designs from this summer. And for all previous Sneaker and iPod of the Week winners, and more sneaker coloring sheets and other fresh pages for kids, check the link below…

Kick It
November 13, 2008

A bunch of the girls at the BGC come into the Cultural Arts Center rocking these new Pastry sneakers (above). They’re pretty fresh. Pastry is the brand started by Run’s House “Simmons Sisters” Angela and Vanessa. They actually have a spinoff starting soon of the popular MTV show (which I admit to watching, it’s fun and my fiancee loves it), called DADDY’S GIRLS. Check out a picture of the Angela and Vanessa with my dudes from Dirty Jax…

Well, by request, I revealed a new sneaker design coloring sheet called the BGC PASTRY, based off the sneaker at the top of the post. It’s become very popular with all the kids in the center, check it out…
There’s been quite a few kids that have come up with great designs and color schemes, but this one below is the hottest one I’ve seen yet. It was actually done by one of the college aged staff girls….
Her third grade group is really into the sneaker design, so she started a 3rd Grade Kicks wall in her classroom. It’s only a week old, so we’ll see how it grows, but take a look at it so far…
Stay tuned for more new coloring sheets. I’ve got my mind on some new sneaker designs. I think I’m gonna do a skate shoe next. And you can check out my past designs at the links below if you missed them, including “Sneaker of the Week” winners from the summer, and my full ’07-’08 coloring sheet collection that I posted a few months back…

BGC Coloring Sheet Collection ’07-’08
July 4, 2008
One thing I’ve learned in my decade of running youth programs is that kids (and staff!) love to color. Sometime back in my first year working with Kidsco, Inc. down in Gaithersburg, Maryland, I started making my own coloring sheets in response to the repetitive Disney ones that we kept using. I wanted them to reflect the culture of our program and what was going on in our world. My style kind of developed on its own, and the elementary school kids became obsessed with them. Eventually I had a bunch of original coloring sheets running through all the schools Kidsco had programs in.
When I began last September as the Cultural Arts Director at the Boys and Girls Club up in Mt. Kisco, I resurrected some of my old coloring sheets and gave them a new life. In the process, I made a bunch of new ones too that focused on the interests of our club kids. Everyone embraced them heavily. Even the older kids in middle and high school love them. It gives them a chance to design their own color schemes and patterns for sneakers, sports uniforms, Ipods, etc. They are fun to color, especially when kids are looking for a relaxing activity to do while they sit, talk with their friends, and listen to music. I do weekly contests for sneaker and Ipod of the week, the winners of which I will start posting soon (stay tuned!). They really come alive when they are all colored in. For now, check out my 2007-2008 school year collection raw and uncolored, which I recently compiled into a book:
