Celebrate the 25th anniversaries of Wu-Tang Clan’s Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders with this incredible blend tape by DJ Filthy Rich. The tape features Rich masterfully blending 36 Chambers lyrics with Midnight Marauders beats (“C.R.E.A.M.” over “Award Tour” is one of my favorites)—well done sir!

Not exactly related, but here’s a dope RBMA article by the great Philip Mlynar on the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, a place where I did one of my first open mic performances ever. Read HERE.

A Tribe Called Quest’s new album We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service is out now, and whether you’re a day one fan or new to the Queens crew, it’s definitely worth checking out. Being a Tribe head to the core, I’m not only enjoying the new music (favorite songs out the gate are “The Space Program” and “Whateva Will Be”) but also the media coverage that is promoting it.
Complex has them on the cover of their new issue, with a full story on the making of the album, including exclusive in-studio pics you can check out HERE. And below, watch as CBS’s Gayle King takes a tour of Q-Tip’s home studio where the album was recorded.
Catch A Tribe Called Quest on tomorrow night on SNL…and watch their new lyric video for “We The People…” HERE.
Here’s a dope interview Genius did with Skeff Anselm, who A Tribe Called Quest fans should know from this shoutout. And yes, that’s him on the Midnight Marauders cover. Click below to read.
Yo! My boy Gippamaldi just sent me this Jack Wilkins gem, which you’ll quickly notice is the sample from A Tribe Called Quest’s “Sucka Nigga.” He had never heard it until today, and neither had I! Shit is flames, for real. Gotta see what else this guy’s got, I’ve been sleeping.
