Shout to my boy Jiggs for alerting me to this top quality recording of the Grateful Dead performing “He’s Gone” live in Amsterdam back in ’72. Found another gem on the album—”Ramble On Rose”—which I included below. Some solid summer tunes here, enjoy the hippie vibes…
Stephen Curry sets a new NBA Finals record with 9 three-pointers.
Before I get to the battle everyone is talking about, I have to post the dopest song on Pusha T’s new Kanye West-produced EP Daytona—”The Games We Play.”
Okay, now that I got that out of the way, here’s Pusha’s Drake diss “Infrared.” And below that is Drake’s swift response, “Duppy Freestyle.” Stay tuned to see and/or hear what happens next…
I unfortunately couldn’t make it out to see Roc Marciano’s show at the Highline Ballroom on Thursday night (Rap Dad duty called), but I had a feeling it was gonna be one of those nights you don’t want to miss. Turns out I was right. See footage above of Busta Rhymes’ guest appearance on stage, where he gave one of the biggest public displays of respect I’ve ever seen in hip-hop—calling Roc one of his Top 5 MCs and explaining for close to four minutes why he’s truly a Rap God. Shouts to my boy Eric Diep for the footage.
And below, see flicks from the show courtesy of Photo Rob, featuring Meyhem Lauren, DJ Muggs, Dallas Penn, Premium Pete, Westside Gunn, Action Bronson, Big Body Bes, Knowledge The Pirate, V Don, Lil Eto, Smoke DZA and Jazz.
Yo Jazz, what is that sweatshirt you’re wearing?!? Salute to Roc Marciano and everyone who was involved in this historic night—this crop of talent represents hip-hop’s finest.
I saw this dude Pat McGann open up for Sebastian Maniscalco at Radio City Music Hall last week, and he killed. Like me, he has three young kids at home, so I felt like every joke he was making was about my life. Watch his set from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert above, and make sure you CLICK THIS LINK to see his funniest bit of the night about open shoulder shirts (which is not in the clip above).
Nick Kroll and John Mulaney return—with zero chill—to host this year’s Film Independent Spirit Awards. Off the hook! Watch their opening monologue above, and also check them out below promoting their hosting duties with Conan earlier this week. So fun, so funny.
Felt good being back on stage with my brother Matisyahu at The Capitol Theatre—thanks for always bringing me out to rock!
